Günter Wallner

Günter is Professor for Game Computing at the Johannes Kepler University Linz and holds positions at the Eindhoven University of Technology and Ontario Tech University. His research interests lie at the intersection of games user research, data analytics, and information visualization. His work particularly centers on understanding player behavior in games and on researching methods to explore and communicate the collected data to derive actionable insights for game design and development. He serves as PI on the project.

Michael Lankes

Michael is Professor for Digital Media at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Campus Hagenberg, where he also serves as coordinator of the Master’s program in Digital Arts, and lecturer at the University of Regensburg. His research explores the intersections of game design, human–computer interaction, and digital arts, with a particular interest in transience in games, gaze-based interaction, and playful extended reality experience. He serves as Co-PI on the project.

Shashvat Singh

Shashvat is a PhD student at the institute of computer graphics at Johannes Kepler University Linz. He has previously studied game design at Uppsala University, Sweden and Computer Science at Krea University, India. His research focuses on the efficacy and user experience of diegetic data visualizations in games. He also is interested in researching digital representation and political economies of play. He serves as one of the full-time researchers on this project.

Luca Geiger

Luca’s academic background is in Interactive Media at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Campus Hagenberg. His professional experience encompasses roles as a developer, lecturer, and researcher in the domains of game development, real-time technology, and interactive visualization. Within the project, his primary focus is on the investigation of visualizations of player-based behavioral data as a constituent element of the game’s mechanics. He is completing his PhD in cooperation with the University of Regensburg.
